Cities depend on the movement of goods, yet the way we handle urban freight has major implications for sustainability. While goods flows are essential, they also contribute to emissions, congestion, and the use of limited urban space. These challenges are often left out of public planning discussions. In this breakfast meeting, we bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss how cities can better plan for and govern urban freight, to make the sector more sustainable. We will discuss the latest research, share experiences, and reflect on where the field is heading.
